Chicken Bone Broth
Chicken Bone Broth
Making chicken bone broth is easy and made with simple ingredients. The payoff is huge- you’ll have a huge supply of delicious bone broth to sip on, cook with and add to soups for the next 7 days. Also, this would be a darling gift to give in a big mason jar with a pretty ribbon. Home made chicken bone broth ~ that’s definitely made with love and salt.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken feet- I know but it’s the best part for this…
- 1 chicken back
** get your chicken feet and backs from Whole Foods! So easy and actually so cheap**
- 2 onions
- 1 head of garlic cut in half exposing all the cloves
- 3 carrots
- 3 stalks celery
- 1 tablespoon whole peppercorns
- 1 bunch parsley – optional
- Salt to taste. I put a lot in there as it’s cooking- like 3 tablespoons of @diamondcrystalsalt
Instructions
- First, boil the chicken feet by themselves for 10 minutes.
- Take them out and you just (kind of gross) but you have to cut like the nails off the cut at the joint. Youll see in the chicken feet it’s like a little bit darker like where the joint is and you just cut there.
- Get rid of the water that you boiled the chicken feet in and start fresh and you just add the clean chicken feet with the backs and all the other ingredients into like a really big stock pot with 16 cups of water. Simmer for at least 6 hours before straining and storing in an air tight glass container.
