Tiny Gourmets~ 5 high protein QUICK meals

There’s nothing fancy about these recipes. I would call them more like guidelines for when your brain isn’t braining and you need help thinking. Here are 5 high protein meal hacks for your hungry and growing babies.

Turkey plate: I always love giving Posey full fat cottage cheese for a quick 13grams of protein in 1/2 a cup. Paired with interesting fruit – today it’s apricots! My turkey patties are just dark meat ground turkey the I make into 1 inch patties and season with a tiny bit of salt and pepper and cooked in olive oil for about 4 minutes each side. Cut into bite sized pieces.

Pork tenderloin is a fantastic protein for babies because it’s super tender, lean and easy to prepare. Marinate a pork tenderloin with 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 2 tab olive oil and 1 tablespoon honey (OPTIONAL AND IF BABY IS OVER 12 MONTHS) roast in the oven at 375 for 35 minutes or until internal temp is 145. Served with macaroni with 1 tablespoon tomato paste & 1 tablespoon butter.

Cook 1-2 eggs and fold in cottage cheese for more protein and a way to sneak it in if baby doesn’t love cottage cheese on its own. Also it cools your eggs down faster!

•

Spinach and artichoke hearts pasta: I just add about 1 cup chopped spinach into already cooked pasta with a little pasta water with 1 tablespoon of butter and cooked artichoke hearts cut into small pieces. Either canned/jared or I used leftover artichokes from @houstonsrestaurants ! The hearts actually have a decent amount of protein!

Veggie hash- makes eggs suitable for dinner! And make it a hash. I cooked sweet potatoes and broccoli in a pan with a little water until soft and then drained the water, added a little butter and 2 eggs. A hearty, yummy, easy and protein packed dinner!

With love & salt,
